Cottonsoft’s work on greater packaging sustainability was featured recently in FMCG magazine.
The Paseo 360° range now features recyclable paper packaging which is sustainably sourced, and a core made from 100% recycled NZ cardboard.
Coffee roasters Robert Harris have not only introduced a Soft Plastic Recycling Bin at its Westgate Cafe in Auckland, but also changed its packaging to be recyclable.

The recycled paper bags are on trial at 30 New World and PAK’nSAVE stores around the country until the end of March. This option will be available alongside the existing Alison’s Pantry resealable LDPE (type 4) bags.

Leading beverage company Frucor Suntory has taken another significant
step in its commitment to sustainable production with the introduction
of 750ml glass bottles for its NZ Natural still and sparkling water.

The sustainable and 100 per cent recyclable packaging is the latest in the Frucor Suntory’s commitment to plastic reduction, following the company’s promise to make 100 per cent of it’s packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025.

Foodstuffs, which owns New World and Pak’n’Save, announced it would allow customers to bring their own containers in May.

Thousands of people are bringing their own containers to supermarkets for meat, fish and salads. Quin told the AM show the business got a lot of positive feedback when it announced the change.

New Zealand Post has begun testing a range of completely recyclable paper-based bags. From 12 August 2019 they began piloting paper-based jiffy bags and flat paper bags in some stores.

NZ Post allows customers to use BYO packaging but only on certain sized items but is piloting a change to its Parcel Post standard tickets – at a few stores – so customers can have more flexibility on size when using their own packaging.
